Making Software HappenTM

What I Do

My business is turning ideas into software. I work with non-technical constituents such as business owners and customers to gather product requirements. I turn user-level requirements into technical programming tasks and schedules. I assemble and direct teams to create software. I coordinate with marketing, sales, and support to produce releases.

What I've Done

I have over twenty years of experience in software development. I've worked on shrink-wrapped products, enterprise products, and consulting projects. As Vice President at Complí, a startup in Portland Oregon, I led a small team responsible for software development, content development, quality assurance, product management, and SaaS hosting. We released more than twenty product updates. Complí's SaaS application has over 40,000 licensed users and averages 25,000 customer visits per week.

Where I've Been

My work history includes Borland International and Netscape as well as local Portland companies such as Webridge, SoftSource, and Complí. I've done contract work for Yakima, NWEA, WebMD, and Fedarra.

What I've Written

Three books on Windows programming and a handful of articles, largely focussed on the Win32 API. I've also taught classes and spoken at conferences.
